BIO:
"I started to play drums when I was under 10 years old. My first drum kit was a really classic Ariel set with just two toms and one cymbal. My first teacher was "Matti Oiling" the late Finnish "drum emperor" as he called himself. My never ending enthusiasm to playing drums and especially drum solos, comes from seen (at the age of 5 or 6) the great drummers like "Billy Cobham" and "Buddy Ritch" perform their magic on tv. After learning the basics i was quickly drawn into rock and heavy music.I also got my set updated bigger Ludwic set. At the age of 12 i was selected into Pop and Jazz conservatory in Helsinki,Finland and moved on to more serious phase.
In the 90's played in a couple of successful metal bands. I played in a several albums, singles and lots of demos with different acts. I had also a honour to play with some great musicians like Roope Latvala (C.O.B), Kaasu Karppinen (HIM), Jukka Jylli (Kingston Wall) in a metal and rock bands and projects.
I have played in many bands and various styles during the last decade. Over the the years I have played pop,rock, flamenco rock, etno-metal and several party bands etc. I think to this day I have performed some 300 gigs or so. I have been drumming also in two big european tours and in many smaller festivals etc.
For many years I used Pearl drums. Pearl gives me a solid sound and feeling of steady beat. Ive also used Paiste and Zildjian symbals all the years. I changed to Yamaha as my style evolved towards more technical direction and i needed to have more nuances in my playing. Over the years I have always changed the sticks that i use, just to get the perfect touch for each and every style. Lately i introduced my self to a world of electric drumming and i’m trying to master it as we speak. I have now Roland TD-12 kit which is a pretty handy set and professional enough to get a hang of it.
I like many styles and many bands so its very difficult to mention any specific band or style that is over the others. Today i’m focusing on MeAgainst and ROO band. Occasionally I’m also called to play some studio sessions which i love to do when ever i have the time. There are also some live performances to come where i use my TD 12, so stay tuned!
